Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin, custom-crafted shells designed to cover the front surface of your teeth, improving their colour, shape, size, or alignment. Made from high-quality porcelain, they mimic the way natural enamel reflects light, giving a result that looks - and feels - like your own teeth.

Veneers are a popular, minimally invasive solution for teeth that are discoloured and don't respond to whitening, irregularly shaped or slightly misaligned, gapped, or chipped and worn. Compared to a crown, veneers require far less removal of the natural tooth, making them a more conservative option for many patients.

With proper care, porcelain veneers can last up to 25 years. They aren't right for everyone, however - they're not usually recommended where there's insufficient tooth structure, poor oral health, significant misalignment, large gaps, bite problems, or habits like teeth grinding. Mild sensitivity and gum tenderness are normal for the first week after placement. Long-term success comes down to good oral hygiene, regular dental visits, avoiding biting hard objects, and wearing a nightguard if you grind your teeth.
